B.Rossitto Takes Home The Art Emporium Award From Madison Art Society Show.

Friday, May 9, 2008 local artist B.Rossitto was the winner of the 'Art Emporium' award at the Madison Art Society show at the Scranton Library, Main Street, Madison, CT. The show opened on Friday, May 9, and will run until May 30. "Repast" a.k.a. 'Chase the Chill Away' is an original watercolor 16x20 framed. Stay tuned to see all the winners at .

From the web site:Receiving day was busy indeed with MAS taking in 224 entries. Eighty-eight were selected to hang in the show. Winners will be posted soon! Looking forward to seeing everyone at the opening on Friday evening 5-7pm at the Scranton Library.

Rob DeBartolo has lived and worked in Connecticut for over forty years. He is an accomplished artist. His media include pastels, acrylics, collage and pourable inks creating beautiful landscapes and flower paintings. His works show a deep commitment to color and its limitless possibilities. He owns and operates a gallery on the shoreline in Essex where he shows art by local artists as well as his own work. Rob's works have been shown throughout New England. He has had several solo shows and his works hang in many private collections. Rob studied at Lyme Academy with Jerry Carron, Creative Arts Workshop with Barbara Harder, and at the Guilford Art Center.

Wethersfield Art League 50th Annual Show

The Wethersfield Art League opens their 50th annual art show and sale Friday June 6th at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center at 200 Main Street in Old Wethersfield. Telephone: (860) 529-7656. The show will be at the Keeney center through the month of June.

The judging is complete and here come the awards. Best in show went to Patricia Trapp for her pastel titled "Sunlight and Shadow." First place Jerry's Art-a-rama award went to Linda Regina for her pastel "The Chedan." Second place B&G Gallery award went to Margot Callahan for her watercolor titled "Pink Roses." Third place B&G Gallery award went to Barbara Frasca for her oil painting titled "Wethersfield Landscape." Honorable mentions went to Leslie Civitello for her watercolor titled "Winter Thaw," Barbara Rossitto for her acrylic painting "Orchids," Lois House for her watercolor "Misty Day," Joan Zawacki for her oil painting "A Room with a View," and Linda Gotta for her pastel "Salmon River."
